DORA, OUR Story

The Downtown Orangeburg Revitalization Association (DORA) has worked tirelessly since 1993 to deliver on its mission, a 501c3 in the City of Orangeburg, is to preserve, manage, promote, and enhance the development of Orangeburg’s historic downtown as the economic center of Orangeburg County. Situated at the confluence of Historic Black Colleges and Universities and Edisto Memorial Gardens, Downtown Orangeburg is the regional destination for authentic SC history from the American Revolution to the Civil Rights Era where a sense of place is cultivated and small businesses thrive. 

Planning continues on a regular basis as the community looks at a variety of exciting and important projects that are designed to improve downtown Orangeburg. 

In addition to being a catalyst for the creation, planning and implementation of projects that will impact our community, DORA organizes and presents a wide range of events.
